Monotroopa SOLD
Acrylic on canvas- By Miranda Vavrosky 2020
Monotropa is known as Indian pipe or Ghost plant. This plant has no chlorophyll and doesn't rely on photosynthesis. This ghostly plant can grow in the darkest of places. Reminding you that you do not have to rely on light to grow and be beautiful. Finding growth in the shadows can create a wonder. Something for all to admire when light is scarce. This plant actually creates a mimic to the trees roots to get a fungus to grow on its roots and supply the nutrients from the depths. I often feel with my art, that I create something beautiful out of my own, or others darkness. Creating growth from the shadows and ghosts that haunt us all.
